A friend of mine brought this to my attention, wanted to know if I was participating...

Oh, my neighbors would love that!
:)):panic::?: |
That'd keep the varmints out of the tomato patch.

LOL... I told my friend I might consider it if I had a privacy fence, but I don't. Oh well!
|
Doing it right now.

What?
Are we only supposed to do this one day of the year? It gets way to hot out there to keep the clothes on! LOL |
Do you ride naked, too, George?

No way, that asphalt would be really nasty if I were to go down! If I go down in the garden I'll just end up with a skin rash.... not road rash! I usually don't start out naked and it usually won't happen before some time in June. What happens is I go out to the garden in the morning while it is cool. That turns into staying out there longer than planned until I am hot and sweaty as all blazes. I look up and see the pool just a few feet away. Well, it's just a natural course of events. I guess at that point I am not really gardening but hanging over the edge of the pool looking at my garden while skinny dipping. |
Just be careful with sunburn in areas that don't normally see the light of day!

Yep, celebrating the Happy World Naked Gardening Day right now:

I tried it last year and the cop that showed up wrote me a ticket for "visual polution".
I thought about protesting to the officer that showed up because I was on my own property, but SHE didn't seem to have much of a sense of humor left. It's tough to be 67 years old. :)) :)) |
One word of warning.
Don't go swimming in a creek on World Naked Gardening Day with snapping turtles.:?::cry: Worth |
Oh, sure, Neohippie, it's all very well to declare May 14 World Naked Gardening Day when you're in Texas! What about us Zone 5-ers? I suppose I would have survived it today---high of about 65---but it wouldn't have been comfortable, and really, what's the point of being in the garden if it isn't making you feel good? And as all Zone 5 tomato growers know, most years we could easily get frost mid-May.
If it's going to catch on in Ontario, it's going to have to be a bit later in the year. Talk to me in August and I think I could get into this idea. (Tomatoes are tall enough then to provide some cover, too....) Mind you, that makes it winter in Australia and New Zealand. I think there might have to be two different dates to make it a truly "world" event.... Z |
Hopefully my next house/farm will be rural enough for nuding about outdoors. If not, hopefully the neighbors will be tolerant types. If not, too bad!

I've been skinny dipping as a teenager. If I went now I'd have to call it chunky dunkin.
But going into the garden nekid ! With packsaddles and cow killers (velvet ants) skeeters and no-see-ums ! No thank you ! If there's two things every wild eyed southern boy knows by age ten, It is that you don't want chiggers.... And the second thing ? you REALLY don't want chiggers ummm some places..LOL For those of you lucky enough to have never had a chigger bite, Think of poison oak rash when you get in a hot shower. It itches like something is trying to burrow into your skin and lasts for a couple of weeks. Just one encounter and I learned walk a 10 foot circle around Queen Ann's lace ! (Called Chigger bushes when I was a kid) Later I learned that the flower don't have any direct thing to do with the mites, they just like the same boundary areas. (same as ticks, where the white tailed deer and other animals like to walk) The mites climb grass or weeds and wait for a poor animal to pass by so they can hop on. |
