Remy,
'Rambling Red Stripes'? Thanks for the results, sounds like a good time. -Randy |
It was a perfect day Randy. You would of loved it!

Remy,
Thanks for the photos and results! I so wish I could have been there. Had a great time last year, and your hospitality was so kind. I am working hard to make it next year, however. My brother brought me a bottle of tomato wine, and I'm saving it to share at your party! Zabby |
We missed you Zabby!
I've seen recipes for tomato wine, but never had any. That would be an excellent thing to try at the party! Remy |
Thank you again Remy, to you and your family - everyone makes it such a great day. We had a great time seeing everyone again & meeting new people too!
Here are my photos... I made a pot full of them into tomato chutney yesterday! |
Thanks Nicky! I stole some of them for the FB photo album:).
It was great to see Russ and you. I'm glad you make a weekend of coming to Niagara Falls. Pomona did too. I hope they went to the Cave of the Winds like I suggest, but what ever they did I know it was fun. The look on your face when I said White Currant was 2nd place was priceless. They do taste different so I'm guessing that's why. I really loved the Garden Lime. Remy |
looks like it was a great time remy im sorry i ouldnt make it.. i lost my dad recently and had my mom drive to my house to change her scenery and help me do lots of picking... next yr i really hope to make it
|
Yup... not a big fan of White Currant - although I was thrilled to have brought something that people liked! I agree with you on the Garden Lime. Yummy!
Hopefully Zabby & Zana can make it next year - Baclava & tomato wine are likely a great combination! |
Stonysoilseeds,
That's ok, hopefully you can come next year. I' know there will be party. I'll be holding it every year til I am not physically able which hopefully is many many years from now. So sorry about your dad. Remy |
Very nice photos. It looks like there were a lot of tomatoes to taste, good food, and lots of fun (I even saw a few kids in swimwear).
|
Mark,
There were about 90 varieties this year so it was a pretty good showing. The food is always yummy. You never know what everyone will show up with, but gardeners generally make excellent cooks. The kids love the party. they don't want to leave. We have games, a swingset, kiddie pool, slip-n-slide, tractor rides, etc. Remy |
Great pics!
In the second pic from the bottom, with the prettiest contestants, what is the big yellow one? The second word of the name is "Beauty." The first word is "base" or "pose" or something like that. |
I think that you are looking at Rose Beauty. They were all pretty!
