Wow Sqwibb! I didn't realize you had a site. I checked out both the friend or foe as well as your grow light build pages so far. Great info. I like all of your pics of the insects. It is nice to have the information all in one place and I also like that you give links to find out more specific info on any one friend or foe. Well done!

The big flea beetles, foe. They laced everyone's squash a few weeks ago at the comm garden when the transplants still had just a few small leaves. One lady had to repurchase plants. Then she put on DE and that stopped them cold.

Cutworm pupae - cigar pupa could also be tomato hornworm/sphinx moth. Could be SVB. Could even be a "nice" big moth like a Luna Moth. I think a lot of the big moths have pupa casings that look pretty similar. Found in a garden, I would smash it, unless you have some pretty moths around and want to take the chance.

If you can find solid info on how to differentiate them, that would be great. To me, they all look pretty much alike. For cutworm, probably smaller than hornworm. I have found various sizes, but not one this entire year!
