I trialed Delicious this year, and it wasn't delicious.

30+ inches of rain, during fruiting, likely washed away any chances of an objective taste test.

Tormato

It was ok. A friend of mine likes it very much, but I thought there were a lot of others that were better.

I've grown it a few times, nice enough larger size tomato. May grow it again someday, but not an annual must grow for me.

Nothing special for me and there are hundreds of other large red fruited varieties I like much better. And no, I'm not going to list hundreds, too much to do right now.:)

I tried it once and thought that the few fruits it produced were not delicious but I'm still looking for a favorite red.

If I remember correctly, this was the first variety of tomato that I ever grew, as a kid in Illinois. I have always kept a supply of seeds for it since and grow it every few years. Memory can be a funny thing - I recall it being a great tomato when I was young, but the last couple times I've grown it, it has failed to impress me. I suspect I recall it fondly because it was my first successful plant.

It's okay. Production is okay, taste is okay. All in all, I'd give it a 6/10, maybe 7 on a good year.

One that I DO grow every year is a variety of Marmande called "Rouge de Marmande" which I brought back with me the last time I visited Australia. I suspect that this is either just a renamed Marmande, or some strain thereof. I've grown the two side-by-side and didn't notice much of a difference. Both were excellent producers of large red fruit with a great flavor on a relatively compact indeterminate plant.

If you have seed for Delicious, grow it and see how it does for you. If not, I'd suggest Marmande or any number of other great reds out there.

'Delicious' tomato was not as great as I thought it would be. It was a good size, a good slicer, and was good in a sandwich, but not great. I'd rather have Brandywines.
