Anyone thinking of starting their seeds early??

Okay, this warmer weather has plants confused, and me as well. I'm sooo tempted to start my seeds a month earlier than I usually would. Sheer foolishness? Anyone else thinking the same thing??

I believe a lot of folks are "thinking" about it. Painfully, thinking about it.:( Frigidly thinking about it.:dizzy: 12 degrees this morning. IN ATLANTA!!!!!!  Oh no. I think I'm going to cry again.

This is terrible. Ice cubes falling from my eyes.  Maybe I should just save the ice and go get the jug.

I was thinking of starting a little earlier this year, because last year was warm early, but this morning was -30. I will be starting normal time I guess.

Good morning, everyone. I started a 70-cell on the 10th (first time every starting tomatoes from seeds) and most of them already came up. I will put them under lights this weekend.

I'm going to start some pepper seeds today. Hopefully they can go out to the GH late next month or early March. It was -12 this morning so tomatoes? No. I've been foolish enough to start them too early, but never, ever this early. I do have 3 cherry plants going in my Aerogarden though!

I've been thinking of little else since Christmas was over
Way too early to start anything in my zone, so I'll have to live thru you all. I just noticed you are zone 14?!? WOW....

Diana, can you stagger your planting, so you have some ready early, and some for backups? If you don't use them, surely someone else will. But if you are in Sunset zone 14, it's time to start seeds anyway isn't it?

ZONE 14. Inland Northern and Central California with Some Ocean Influence
Growing season: early Mar. to mid-Nov.

Started mine on Jan 1. So far, nearly all have poked their heads up, except Cuostralee, Big Beef, and Momotaro:

Dukerdawg,

I was trying to bring a little sunny "inspiration" that the cold Winter days will soon pass, and that you folks will be starting your seeds soon.

Just be glad that you are not this guy's neighbor:

Staggering is a good idea! Usually I start my seeds in Mid Feb- but I think I'm going to do it this weekend!

What the...Ray, you have a greenhouse or something? Mine were all mounds of blackened and dead leaves and branches...those toms look great!
