ISO Hominy pudding recipe

Hey, T'villers. Hope everyone is having a happy, blessed, and safe New Year's. In true to my family fashion we haven't had our Christmas celebration yet. My oldest daughter recently had to do a report for school on traditional holiday meals through the decades. She wants us to try to make 2 of the dishes in the report. I found a recipe for Indian pudding in an old amish cookbook of mine. I remember from reading through various threads that some T'viller's also collect cookbooks. I can't find a recipe for Hominy pudding online or in any of my cookbook collection. I'm wondering if any of y'all have a recipe for Hominy pudding you would be willing to share with our family? Thanks!

Just happen to have some huge dried hominy from a particular type of corn product of Peru.
Don't ask where I come up with this stuff.
Going to be part of tomorrow's meal.

Thanks, Worth. I'm going to try one of them. How did your soup recipe turn out and where did you get dried hominy? I can only find it canned here in the stores....

Does dried hominy have to be boiled for hours?

I get the stuff from Mexican markets the price is a fraction of what they charge on line from the foo foo sites.

I soak it for 12 hours drain off water and have it on low for the rest of the day at just a wee simmer close to another 8 hours or so however long it takes to start splitting open.
At least that is the way I like it.

On a side note I just picked up 6 ounces of what the Mexican folks call CAL AKA calcium hydroxide / slacked lime / pickling lime.
10 limes and a bag of achiote condimentado for under 5 dollars at the market.
The CAL is to make my own hominy/pozole from dried corn.
Project for this weekend.
