My largest tomato yet has been from a Giant beef steak plant. Not saying much I know. It was larger than my hand.
My husband likes the large slicers so I grow him some. Is it possible to get a tomato the size of a salad plate. He keeps asking me to try.
So far all I know is start them early, give them lots of room, moderate water and plenty of sunshine.
