2014 Plant Swap
Hi folks,
It’s time to think about our annual plant swap. I’m suggesting 1 of three dates. May 4th, May 10th or May 11th. Post your preference. I also need suggestions for a location. Most city/county/state parks charge a fee so if anyone has any suggestions for a place let me know. I’m open to anywhere in the Tri-State area. (Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, South Eastern Indiana) |
I'd vote for Cincinnati, or South Eastern Indiana, somewhere close to Indianapolis, I'd love to attend, May 4th sounds good.
|
May 4! May 11 is Mother's day.

Yrb,
Good point. |

I did just send an account request and I have activated. I am unsure if you can help me or not, but if the group would like to have the event in Wilmington, I am on the Clinton County Ag Society board of directors and we can look at having this at the fairgrounds at no charge. I would need to verify other activity on the grounds if your group would like to do this. Thanks. Greta Gray Let me know what everyone thinks about Wilmington. Personally it's good for me. If ya don't like it you have to have a better idea. :P |

Just a suggestion.:) Marsha |
May 4th sounds good to me!
|
Yeah, May 4th would be my choice as well.
|
Jerry, just wanted to say the Wilmington idea is A okay with me too. We had a few people at the tasting last year from Wilmington and a few from Dayton so that would be a great location for all plus it would be about 45 mins closer for Lurley.
|
So, does anyone have a valid objection to Wilmington on May 4th?
If not I’ll ask Greta to try to secure a location for us, then we can discuss future locations at this gathering. |
I got good news from Greta yesterday. Mark your calendar for May the 4th from 11 to 3. And be sure to post your available plants.

Is anyone coming to the Plant Swap? I haven’t seen much talk.

I sent Greta an e-mail to check on our venue for Sunday the 4th. Here is her reply. As for her question about food the answer is YES. Bring FOOD.
We should be good to go. There are tables which I will get plastic covering to place the participants plants. We will be using what is called the 4-H Kitchen outside area. There is a map on our website link and have the folks look for the Jr Fair Building. http://clintoncountyfair.org/directions/ I would suggest for everyone to bring their lawn chairs as I will not have access to these in this area. Do your folks bring food and drink to this event like the fall tasting? |
Looking forward to it. Do we know if there will be a place to plug in a crock pot? Thinking of making spinach dip again but it needs to be heated.

Choptag thrill
Just got back from the CHOPTAG plant trade. Still excited about the white tomatoes in my care. I know they are just tomatoes. But the great people that care for them , make this group a highlight to the start of summer. Anybody in our area make an effort to come to the tasting. It is a unique hobby.

Thanks everyone for the plants, luckily I have a couple friends who need extras because I think I went a little overboard. Good to see everyone and enjoy some good food and gardening talk.
