Your tomatoes are looking great!
and - you'll have ripe tomatoes soon!
They've survived some serious insect pressures, I'm eagerly awaiting those first ones.

Purple Reign doing well. Initially it stagnated and I suspected infection, but it seems to be on the right path now.

Maskotka are happy in the square containers. Looking forward to tasting them.

Today I sow Bella Rossa, Dixie Red, Skyway and Mountain Merit.
It seems like the bash brothers from yesteryear have arrived to show these Spain heirlooms how to put some runs up on the board.

Your plants always look so good, Gerardo! Looking forward to seeing the fruit of your beautiful Purple Reign.

Thanks! The best part is they've been fed Osmocote 14-14-14. Mykos, alfalfa-compost tea, and sporadic foliar treatments with SeaGreen from Beneficial Biologics. All items I already had in hand.

Once I get the Haifa Polyfeed they'll really blow up, Rebel Alliance style.

Yesterday I hit HD and the hydro store.

Opportunity to compare and contrast.

Tupur, a neutral blank slate, consistent across lots.

Raised Bed n Potting Mix, mystery mix that varies lot to lot a whole lot.

Malibu Compost, free-99, giving it a shot, both as compost tea and top dress.

i looked up that Sea Green and that is so expensive. Does it work enough to justify the price?

Gerardo May 17, 2018 03:40 PM

@ Barb. I bought the tiny bottle for 13 bucks after finishing a sample. The dose is 0.5 ml/gallon, so it takes forever to go through a bottle. I think it helps and can aid fruit development. Hard to find foliars that are highly concentrated and K heavy.

If you see a sample snatch it up.

Another great sample is the Atami Bcuzz Blossom Builder, also P-K heavy. Highly concentrated, same 0.5-1 ml/gallon.

Bu's Bend for free!?!? Really high quality stuff IMO, best bagged compost on the market. $17 a bag out here in CA, worth every penny though. I out a handful in all my pots and even in ground stuff and will top dress with it as well.

First impression on the Bu'S is positive, used as a top dress, watered in and they awoke at attention.

Just as u mention, I went around and gave everyone a handful.

Next will be Bu's tea plus alfalfa.

Great plants and pictures as always, Gerardo! :)

Wow! Your Elgin Pink looks as good as AK Mark's stuff. That is a complement! Looks like you will be wading waste deep in plants very soon, if not already.

High praise indeed, thanks, but mine are far from that plateau. Here are some lowlights:
