Yes, this is original Kibic photo.

But I was not the source for Lisa (Amishland) of Kibic. And of course Amishland is not the only source of this tomato variety seeds in USA as it is stated on her website. Her blurbs are awfuly lying.

She is one of the very worst and most dishonest seed vendors.

The vendor Nikitova has them.

I should have read the descriptions of Kibic/Kibits a bit better. The lady with whom I traded the seeds with has bought hers from Nikitovka and she said that those had potato leaves like in the plants which I am growing.

I like to write the name as Kibits, because then I may pronounce it more correctly and that is what the seed vendor has on their list and this seems not to be same as the Polish Kibic.
I put the name Кибиц to translator to translate it to English and the auto detect recognized the language as Serbian and translated it to Kibic. When I changed the language to Russian, the translated result was Kibits. Ukrainian to Finnish translation gave me it spelled as Kybyts.

I do not usually like that the names of tomatoes and plants are translated, but it certainly makes saying them easier. I got seeds in the trade also for Krasnaya Shapochka, which is also sold by names Rotkaeppchen and Little Red Riding Hood. I could call it in Finnish as Punahilkka, but I would call it which ever is the original name. Some places call it as Ukrainian heirloom and some German from time of DDR.

DDR sounds like more nostalgic... 'ostalgic', as East Germans say..! I think that's where it originated.

That's too bad ! Her website is very compelling....

Rotkaeppchen is a well-known tomato variety from DDR. All other names in Russian, English or Finnish are translated)

Do not believe descriptions on such seed selling websources like Nikitovka. Usually they have no idea about the real variety origin. But at least they don't promote self-written blurbs like Amishland.

All names at Nikitovka are simply transliterated from Russian the way it sounds - that's why Kibits and not Kibic.

This Russian CV Chibis (Чибис is a Lapwing bird in Russian) is not the same as Kibic which is Polish CV. They are two different varieties.

I ordered some Kibics from Nikitovka plus a bunch of others. I can't start them this year but there's always next year. It will be fun to see if the tomatoes match the descriptions.

Is there any description saying what kind of leaves the Russian variety has? Since my seeds did not come directly from Nikitovka, there is always chance that I got accidentally seeds of some other variety.

It would be nice to know what kind of leaves are on the plants grown from Nikitovka's Kibits seeds.

Here is update on the tomato, which I got with name Kibits. The plants have stayed under 3' tall with moderate branching, but have been quite prolific. The tomatoes have jointless stems, which I have not seen before and was surprised, when picking first ripe fruits. Taste is quite average, but the plants are healthy and good producers, so I will definitely grow them in future for making salsa and sauces.
