I just got home and looked at the link.
That is the same crock I bought from the sausage maker or at least it looks the same.
It is lead free and The Sausage Maker is very good at replacing anything that is bad.
The crock I bought is made in china and I dont see a darn thing wrong with it.
The only difference is mine was 10 dollars higher but it was free shipping.
Plus when you call them on the phone you get someone.
Yes the folks I buy from are a little more expensive but I have done business with them for lord knows maybe 25 years or more.
If you dont like the China stuff they sell stuff made in Poland too.
That is what I am considering now.
This one it is as high as a cats back but I have been saving up for it.
What can I say I like nice stuff.:roll:

I ran across two round used crocks from small crock pots no lids for 2.50 each at the thrift store.

I think I might go back and get them if they are still there.
I can make the lids and weights myself.

Sounds good. I use gallon jars, fitted with air-locks for smaller ferments, works well for me.

I hope they are still there I have collected change around the house to pay for them.
I did find a the all American pressure canner at a bargain on Craig's list but it was 150 miles away.
Used only 3 times and like new.
But the price wasn't lower than the trouble and fuel to go get it.

Then this one I just saw today that is another restoration project an old national 25 quart $50.00.
Looks just like and old Kook Kwick.
Missing part of the needle valve I can make with my lathe. :yes:

This puppy is close to 100 years old if not 100 years old just like my little one that is its mate.

Thanks for the link, but for me the shipping killed the deal.:(
Other people that live in the vicinity could use it though.

With the side electrical work I did I will have enough money to buy two Polish made 5 liter fermenting crocks.
That will give me a small canner a large canner, two 5 liter and one 15 liter fermenting crocks.:yes:

Just picked up the old canner it is in fantastic shape.
No pitting what so ever inside or out.
It belonged to an older farm couples grandmother.
Hasn't been used in maybe sixty years.
No worries at all on this one, what a find for fifty bucks. :yes:
