Hoping to pot up late Feb, plant out mid March |
I am "glad" you added Black Cherry, Amen!
A lot of people do not realize how "SWEET" the Black Cherry Tomatoes are. |

It was similar but I did not get to pick any last year,.
Didnt prep the garden, didnt water or spray or otherwise tend to the plants Any that did make had BER before they all fell to Grey Mold Going to have to work at it a bit more this time if I want to pick a few :-) at least fertilize, water regular and spray some of Bill's bleach water I hardly ever get many fruits from an OP slicer, but they are mostly all good'uns There may be some results of previous seasons in my pictures section http://tomatoville.com/album.php?u=6756 |

I have used Bill's bleach water, hydrogen peroxide 50/50 mix and daconil fungicide. I have not tried the copper spray but I read that it can be effective with the daconil and bleach in a rotation. It can be frustrating but it can also be worth it. |
I start my tomatoes April 1st, and retired January 1st hope I don't love my seedlings
to death with so much time to watch them grow. |
James: don't worry, there will be so many things come up you will find you actually will be busier now than when you were working. As soon as folks discover you are retired your time will become a precious commodity.
Today I began pulling tomato seeds out of inventory to prepare for March 1 seed starting. |
Traditionally I start my tomato seeds on April 7th and pepper seeds a week later. Tomato plants get put out in their garden homes around May 18th and pepper plants about June 8th.
