Hello Lisa,
yes, I even have 2 balconies. One is not sheltered and faces the west, the other one is a loggia facing the east and all my tomatoes grown indoors over the winter spend their late springs and summers there. I also have a relatively large garden at my cottage in the hills (570 meters above mean sea level). No greenhouse, but I don't think I need one as I built a heated and lit "balconyhouse". Polycarbonate combined with polypropylene foil. It's small, accommodates maximum 15 plants, but it's very useful for growing seedlings. I know I am not the only one to "suffer" from limited seasons, but I have done my best to overcome this obstacle. I don't envy Californians or Floridians at all.;)
Yes, what you can see next to Mongolian Karlik is parsley. As I light the windows anyway, I decided to use the light as much as possible. I also grow chives.

How was the snowstorm?

Here's a photo of my "balconyhouse". That box is a former hairdryer, 350W. The lights are not visible.

Here are some up-to-date snaps. I just hope to have first ripe tomatoes by the end of March. When I do, I'll celebrate with you.:D
