Many thanks, got mine today!
Mark,

I got 3C8 and 3C57. What should I expect from these?

Thanks,
Robin
Robin - both should be early striped grapes - purple w/ green stripes. I expect 3C8 to have much darker flesh.

Sounds interesting! Will be curious to hear the results of these growouts. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, seeds arrived today, mine are the same as Robin's 3C8 and 3C57
Robin - both should be early striped grapes - purple w/ green stripes. I expect 3C8 to have much darker flesh.
Sounds good to me and I'll be sowing these later today.

Mark, the seeds arrived today, thank you for this opportunity. How embarrassing for our postal system, almost a week later than overseas to Finland and Wales! I look forward to growing these out; and since I have the same ones as Jayc and Robin, it will be interesting to note the difference in our different climates.

Mark, I got the seeds last week, thanks!

3C54 -
3C40 -
3C45 - orange plum/saladette.
3C6

Can you let me know what you're expecting from ones that don't have a description listed? What would help you as far as record keeping?
Mark, I got the seeds last week, thanks!

3C54 - small purple striped heart
3C40 - orange striped biocolr saladette
3C45 - orange plum/saladette.
3C6 - small orange striped bicolor heart

Can you let me know what you're expecting from ones that don't have a description listed? What would help you as far as record keeping?
Mark/all - these are new F1's from parents that have unique combinations of traits. These predicted phenotypes are my best guesses - but I've been surprized before, and especially when using GWR/bicolor parents - which is the case for several of these.

I received and planted:
all three seeds of 3C3;
all four seeds of 3C45 and
all four seeds of 3C54
on February 16.

The first (3C54) popped up yesterday (10 days - no heat). Today the score is:
3C3 = 1/3 = 33.3%
3C45 = 1/4 = 25%
3C54 = 2/4 = 50%.

More are likely.

Planted both varieties two weeks ago, and the results so far:
3C3: one seedling (looks healthy and vigorous)
3C54: none germinated

Boutique Tomatoes April 3, 2014 10:59 AM

Of the 4 varieties I received I have 3-4 plants of all but 3C40, that one I only got two that germinated. I *think* that one I only received 3 seeds for, so overall germination was very good for me.

crmauch April 8, 2014 11:14 PM

3C3 - 1 out 4 up
3C45 - 2 out 3 up -- I'm concerned they may both have 'helmet' head.

dinca May 23, 2014 01:03 AM

3C3 total 2 seedlings, one died, the other is struggling and not yet planted.
3C45 total three seedlings, strongest one planted, but not robust.
3C54 total three seedlings, strongest one planted, but not robust.

I have all of these planted here (MN) this summer. In general vegetative vigor and plant health look very good - certainly signs of hybrid vigor in plant growth. The first of these are now flowering.

Hi Mark,

Here's some info on the hybrids. I had 100% germination on 3C3, 3C6, and 3C57. All the plants are very healthy, RL, about 5 to 6 inches tall and were planted in the garden last Fri. No blooms as yet but they look great.

Your Hybrid's status thus far

All your hybrids were planted the first week of June and are approximately 2 feet tall at the end of June.
All 3 plants appear to be very vigorous and healthy.

I have one plant of 3C3:

This is its fruit (it appears to be a plum, any striping does not appear to be prominent:
