How big are the Mini Rocotos, and do they have the wonderful Rocoto taste?
I'm interested in this too. I'm thinking of getting seeds for this from Semillas La Palma. Levent, I must mention how much I appreciate your posts. I don't really have much I could say but I imagine what a joy and education it must be to walk round your capsicum garden. Fantastic pictures too. Thank you. :) Jeremy Mojave you get an idea of size here; http://www.semillas.de/cgi-bin/shop_en/shop.cgi?shop=&keywords=Rocoto%20+%20pubescens&cart_id= |

Bill, Jenny and Jeremy thank you all for the kind words :)
Gardening is really great fun and my way of meditation! Also happy to post my experience via photos. Bill, average Mini Rocoto pod is 2X1 cm.All the pubescens varieties taste similar for me.(Unique pubescens flavor) Mini Rocoto is neither nuclear hot nor mild.Call it medium heat. |
Thanks Levent, with peppers you just never know. :)

Very nice Levent. Had to Google that one, says its a rare pepper but doesn't describe the heat, have you tried it yet?
|
Jenny it's a bit hotter than Mini Rocoto (can be 50-100 000 SHU)Seeded and halved the harvest. At the moment they are in oven!In a few hours I'll have some Rocoto flakes for winter use.

Even better to cook with them...good luck.
